Rigel is made with the same carbon fiber used in supercars. The carbon fiber and its manufacturing process completely differ from what you’re used to. Over 100 tons of controlled pressure, combined with the specific material arrangement and our technological development, make Rigel a unique piece at the forefront of technology. This effort has led to the filing of 2 international patents and the creation of the most technologically advanced chainring.

Continous Fiber Teeth

During the manufacturing process, carbon fibers are arranged in the geometry of each tooth around the anti-wear metal core with a concentric alignment. This alignment provides structural strength in the teeth that is impossible to achieve with any other carbon fiber manufacturing process, such as layered or CNC-machined carbon.

CAN I USE RIGEL WITH ANY TYPE/BRAND OF CHAIN?

The tooth design of Rigel has been developed to be compatible with any chain on the market for 11 12, and 13 speeds, including Shimano, SRAM Eagle, and SRAM Eagle Flattop chains.

DO I HAVE TO USE A NEW CHAIN WHEN INSTALLING A NEW RIGEL?

Te recomendamos que utilices una cadena nueva al montar el plato, y que controles el desgaste de ésta. De este modo alargarás la vida de tu plato de carbono RIGEL muchos más km, una cadena demasiado estirada puede afectar estructuralmente a los dientes.

WHAT DURABILITY DOES A RIGEL CHAINRING HAVE?

Defining a general durability for a component like this is impossible, as its longevity depends on various factors such as the rider’s power output, terrain elevation, maintenance, and more. These factors can cause some cyclists to cover more kilometers than others, just as with a conventional aluminum chainring. Therefore, we can’t provide a specific figure. However, keep in mind that the core is made of metal, so the wear will be similar to that of an aluminum chainring.

HOW CAN I DETERMINE IF THE OFFSET IS SUITABLE FOR MY BIKE?

The 6.5 mm offset is compatible with all bikes that have a 142 mm rear hub configuration.

IS IT TRULY THE LIGHTEST CHAINRING IN THE WORLD?

Yes, it is the lightest Direct Mount aero chainring for gravel/road. You can reduce the weight by about 60 grams compared to a standard aluminum chainring, as it primarily uses carbon fiber for both the structure and the teeth, despite having an internal metal core that is used solely to extend its lifespan against wear.

WHAT MAINTENANCE DOES IT REQUIRE?

We recommend lubricating your drivetrain with a dry lubricant to prevent particles from sticking to the chain, which could cause premature wear on your RIGEL carbon chainring. Keeping your drivetrain clean and well-lubricated will extend the life of RIGEL, as well as changing the chain before it becomes too stretched.
