ÄLSAK

Scroll down to discover the first unishell Gemini seatpost.

Lightness, performance and beauty in a single piece

From 69.5 grams for the lightest version.

Patent pending technology

Once again, we managed to develop something you have never seen before. Thanks to the design and manufacturing development, we over-mould the clamp supports, achieving the continuity of the carbon fibers throughout the structure and taking advantage of all its mechanical properties.

Designed and Manufactured
in Barcelona

We believe is time to change; that is why everything is done at home, where Gemini craftsmen can ensure the excellence of each piece.

Unishell body

Simple & elegant.

The hollow unishell body of the seatpost is key to avoid unnecesary material; undesired weight.

By laminating the shell, greater continuity of carbon fibers is achived, improving the structural behaviour of the composite.

Forged Carbon, Hypercars technology in your seatpost

Innovation even in the smallest parts makes ÄLSAK unique and cutting-edge.
Applying more than 100 Tons of pressure with temperature, to achieve the maximum resistance of the carbon and a better distribution of fibers throughout the jaw.

Titanium hardware

The best demands the best: 100% titanium hardware and pivots, a TOP seat post with TOP materials.

A lightweight saddle clamping with large mount surface

To avoid shear stresses on the saddle rails, Älsak has a large clamping surface on the cradle to prevent damage to the saddle rails, especially the carbon ones.

Tested to pass critical conditions

To develop the best components, we carry out all the tests in first person.

Seatpost offset

Find your ideal position to blend in with the bike, whether you’re looking for a straight post with no offset, or you need to set your position back in the saddle, available 0mm. (15 mm. coming soon).

Layup: Ultralight o Performance

Both for lovers of ultralight parts and for those looking for maximum performance and stiffness to get the most out of every W of power, we have developed 2 types of Ultralight and Performance layup, and they have been optimized for each seatpost length, check out the reference weight table:

*The weights can deviate +/- 5% of what is specified by the manufacture.
*Reference weights for UD matt finish, depending on the finish the weight varies.
*12K versions increase in weight.

FAQ’S

IS IT COMPATIBLE WITH FRAME'S STANDARD POST-TUBE HOLES ?

Yes, Älsak’s different sizes (tube diameters) are designed according to the different existing standards. To know your’s, check the inner diameter of the post tube in your frame, and you will know which Älsak size you have to pick.

IS IT COMPATIBLE WITH ALL TYPES OF SADDLE RAILS?

Yes, our clamp system makes it fully compatible with any standard seat rail, from round to oval.

CAN I HAVE AN ÄLSAK AT MY DESIRED LENGTH?

Of course, you can choose from our length sizes which are 250, 300, 350 and 400mm. For each one, the clamping area is specifically placed, and the post can only be mounted respecting the marked range, so it is not possible to cut the tube affecting this area.

CAN I CUT THE SEATPOST?

The seatpost cannot be cut, the carbon laminate is optimized for each length, you have to choose the length that suits your measurements and choose that length when ordering.

HOW DO I CHOOSE THE CORRECT LENGTH?

Here we explain in detail how to choose the correct seatpost length for your bike.

The first thing you should do is take a tape measure and the bike where you want to mount your ÄLSAK seatpost. You must measure the length from the saddle clamp to the saddle rails. This length is the “effective length” of seatpost you need.

Consult the following table, you will see that there are two columns that indicate: “minimum effective length” and “maximum effective length”, find the seatpost length in which the value that you have previously measured on your seatpost is between the maximum measurement and the minimal. Consult in that same table what seatpost length this effective length refers to and you will have already found the seatpost you need!

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN UD AND 12K CARBON FINISHES?

Both options only determine the carbon fiber pattern of the last layer of the seat-post, while the inner structure is the same for all the options, performing exactly the same under riding stresses. The UD pattern (uni-directional) is a fiber distribution where all carbon fibers are paralel to eachother, in a single direction. In the other hand, a 12K pattern is a fiber distribution in which fibers are woven in groups, forming a visual squared pattern along the surface.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GLOSS AND MATT FINISHES?

Both options only determine the finish treatment of the last coating layer of the seat-post. A gloss finish is totally smooth and generates very defined light reflections, while the matt finish is characterized by having more texture, which makes reflections on the surface much more diffused.

HOW CAN IT BE SO LIGHTWEIGHT?

The main key to Älsak’s incredible weight is its hollow unishell body. Unlike most carbon fiber seatposts, the top area where the clamp elements are mount is not a solid body, and the surfaces where the pibot elements rotate are not cut edges of the tube, giving as a result a highly controlled mounting surface, fully supported by a fiber structure placed in the optimal distribution. This sophisticated structure allows us to engineer a material optimization to provide an extremely light and beautiful seatpost.

I NEED A SEATPOST LONGER THAN 400 MM, CAN YOU MANUFACTURE IT?

Of course, it is not a measure that we have as a standard, but we can manufacture it up to 500 mm in length. When placing your order, write us your need in comments, and we will contact you to define the details.
