The lightest XC handlebar in the world

We want you to feel the ride, not the weight. After a long time of development and optimization, we are proud to introduce you to the lightest XC handlebar in the world from only 99gr in 740mm.

2 AVAILABLE LAYUPS

Whether you are looking for maximum lightness or extreme rigidity, there’s a Layup version for you: The Ultra-Lightweight layup version is meant to be for those who seek the lightest components for their bikes,  and the Performance one is for those riders who are going to ride fast and seek maximum stiffness. Note that the first one is for riders weighing no more than 90Kg, and the second one is for riders weighing up to 120Kg.

Integrating the exact same technology that has put other Gemini handlebars like the Pröpus at the top of World Cup.

TURNING REACTIONS

By enlarging the horizontal section we have managed to increase the rigidity of the handlebar against any force exerted by the pilot when turning. This translates into a more direct and reactive steering control.

VERTICAL ABSORTION

By reducing the vertical section we have achieved an increased absorption of vertical impacts and vibrations. This translates into less hand and arms fatigue, allowing the rider to keep high descent rates for longer.

Tested to pass critical conditions

We carry out all the tests in-house to assess the quality of our pieces and thus, be able to develop the best components.

Premium quality finish treatment

The last coating layer, gloss or matt, adds 1.9 grams of supreme quality. You will notice that we put special care to even smallest details.

Wässat integrates the same technology as the Pröpus; It is manufactured following exactly the same process, using the same materials, to perform like no other.

49 PIECES TO LAMINATE EACH HANDLEBAR

The flat pattern of carbon fiber sheets of each Wässat is specifically developed for each layup version. Plus, to achieve our incredible weight optimization, reinforcements are placed by hand only where they are needed, creating a non-constant thickness tube, incredibly light and strong.

CONSTRUCTION WITH SPECIFIC INTERNAL BLADDERS

To achieve an optimal structure, we use internal bladders specifically designed for each handlebar, so that carbon fibers are perfectly compacted against the mold, avoiding the formation of wrinkles and resin pools. Thanks to this, we can control the smoothness of the whole structure. 

Racing geometry

The same geometry as his older brother, the Pröpus, now also in a conventional handlebar.

IS IT COMPATIBLE WITH STANDARD BAR-STEMS ?

Wässat is 100% compatible with all standard stems on the market with a diameter of 31.8mm at the clamping area.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE LIGHTWEIGHT LAYUP VERSION AND THE PERFORMANCE ONE?
The Ultra-Lightweight layup is meant to be for those who seek the lightest components for their bikes,  with a maximum rider’s weight of 90kg.

The Performance layup is for those riders who want to have maximum stiffness and reactivity in a lightweight component. This one can be for riders weighing up to 120Kg.

CAN YOU CUT MY WÄSSAT TO MY DESIRED WIDTH?

Of course, you can customize the width of your Wässat from 680mm to 800mm. You just have to tell us when configuring your handlebar at the shop page!

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GLOSS AND MATT FINISHES?

Both options only determine the finish treatment of the last coating layer of the handlebar. A gloss finish is totally smooth and generates very defined light reflections, while the matt finish is characterized by having more texture, which makes reflections on the surface much more diffused.

IS IT TRULY THE LIGHTEST XC HANDLEBAR IN THE WORLD?

Yes, in the Ultra-Lightweight layup we have managed to manufacture the lightest handlebar with a weight of 99g using the same manufacturing processes and materials as its brother, the Pröpus.

Recognizing that users are now more knowledgeable about their cycling needs, we have developed two versions of the construction of our handlebars, using the best technology applied to both but with small differences so that you can get the maximum performance from your handlebar.

 

LIGHTWEIGHT LAYUP FEATURES

– Ultra-light lamination, the world’s lightest carbon XC integrated handlebar, weighing as little as 149g.

– Absolute comfort, providing absorption in the direction of the arms, making it more comfortable and helping to reduce fatigue.

– Reactivity in turns, more than any other ultra-light round carbon MTB handlebar thanks to the development of the GMN section.

– It is 100% optimized, meaning it is designed for use in XC for a cyclist weighing up to 90 kg.

– Not designed to withstand the impacts of certain falls; it is an F1 piece for your bike.

 

PERFORMANCE LAYUP FEATURES

– More racing character, designed for a more aggressive use such as Downcountry or top-level competition.

– Provides greater stiffness than the XC version, for those who prioritize explosiveness over comfort.

– More torsional stiffness, the stiffness felt when alternating the force of the arms on the handlebar, for example, during a sprint.

– More reactivity in handling, movements are sharper and more precise.

– Greater resistance to falls, therefore, it is more resistant to falls than the XC lamination.

– Increases approximately +30g* compared to the XC version.

– Rider weight limit of up to 120 kg.”

CARBON FINISH

The carbon finish only affects the final aesthetic layer of carbon fiber. Both the UD and 12K finishes pass the same strength tests and offer the same final weight. It is an aesthetic decision, catering to those who love the look of traditional woven carbon (12K) and those seeking a more elegant finish (UD)
