KÄSTOR

Redefining the enduro handlebar

FORGET ABOUT ANY PRECONCEIVED NOTION REGARDING ENDURO AND TRAIL HANDLEBARS

KÄSTOR is a handlebar specifically designed for enduro and trail bikes, offering you possibilities of geometry that no other handlebar can, thanks to its unibody design. Designed, developed and manufactured y Barcelona.

WHEN THE WORD “INTEGRATION” TAKES ON A NEW MEANING

KÄSTOR has been designed to take full advantage of the carbon fiber and integrate all the elements of its cockpit with an incredibly clean aesthetic.

FROM 235 g. OF ENGINEERING AND DESIGN.

The shape of KÄSTOR is not the result of chance—its unibody design has been developed and optimized using the most advanced calculation software to obtain the best performance, the greatest lightness and the maximum resistance.

NO ASSEMBLY STRESSES

By eliminating the joint between the stem and the handlebar, stresses caused by assembly preloads have been taken away, preventing the handlebar from being slippery, and also eliminating the areas subject to compressions that warp the handlebar and are conductive to the delamination of the fiber layers, decreasing resistance.

STRESS DISTRIBUTION

The continuity of the material between the stem and the handlebar eases stress distribution over a larger area, so that the stresses flow along the handlebar, eliminating high-stress areas and, thus, increasing its final resistance.

GMN SECTION

The circular cross sections perform equally in all directions, this is why we have developed the GMN section with two basic purposes: decreasing hand fatigue arising from vibrations and forces, and increasing reactivity and control when turning

VERTICAL ABSORTION

By reducing the vertical section we have achieved an increased absorption of vertical impacts and vibrations—this translates into less hand and arm fatigue, since the handlebar absorbs them, allowing you to keep a high downhill pace for a longer period of time.

TURNING REACTIONS

By enlarging the horizontal section, we have managed to increase inertia, increasing the rigidity of the handlebar against any force exerted by the pilot when turning on the terrain. This translates into a more direct and reactive control, providing a greater steering precision.

SMALL DETAILS MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

Our cap, with its exclusive design, hides the upper bolt, leaving an orifice to insert only the Torx wrench to be able to tighten the headset and, thus, providing a cleaner look of the cockpit.

TAKING DOWN GEOMETRY LIMITS WITH LENGTHS OF 10, 20, 30, 40 AND 50 mm.

Kästor has a geometry designed for enduro and trail bikes. Its exclusive design allows impossible stem lengths with a conventional handlebar, and it also offers you a perfect working position to take full advantage of it, helping you to outdone yourself.

GEOMETRY FOR ENDURO AND TRAIL BIKES

KÄSTOR is especially designed to be implemented in bicycles with a steering angle between 64 and 67 degrees, its entire geometry is designed to work in that position and provide you with increased control and absorption.

EXTREME POSSIBILITIES

The unibody design allows you to get the handlebar as close as possible, enabling impossible geometries with a conventional handlebar and stem without gaining height.

CHOOSE THE LENGTH YOU WANT

KÄSTOR is made in different stem lengths, so that you can choose the most suitable position for your style and the geometry of your bike, with stem lengths of 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 mm.

KÄSTOR IS MADE FROM THE BEST CARBON FIBER

You can only make the best handlebar using the best carbon fiber—we use the best carbon fiber of intermediate modulus in the market, Mitsubishi MR70, that, together with a refined manufacturing process and an optimized lay-up, ensures the best performance and quality.

CARBON FIBER

Carbon fiber is not the same everywhere—this is why we have chosen the most resistant fiber, with an intermediate modulus. Mitsubishi MR70 is a latest generation, high-end carbon fiber, developed for the most discerning clientele in the aerospace industry. This is the best option to ensure optimum performance of the handlebar, as well as increase its resistance lowering its weight.

CONSTRUCTION

The material properties are really important, but so is the building structure of the parts—this is why we use a “sandwich” structure, using twill as the external and internal layers to increase its resistance to delamination due to impacts, and a core UD carbon fiber that ensures getting the best mechanical and structural properties of the fiber.

SPECIFIC BLADDER DESIGN

What cannot be seen is as important as what can be seen, this is why we have created a specific bladder for every handlebar size, which allows us to adapt it perfectly to the handlebar shape and obtain a perfect fiber compaction, avoiding the formation of wrinkles and resin pools.

TITANIUM

The best material to be in contact with carbon fiber is titanium. Thanks to its chemical properties, it acts as a noble material, avoiding any kind of galvanic corrosion—this is why we have chosen it for the bolts, as well as because of its balance of mechanical properties and weight.

TESTED THROUGH THE MOST DEMANDING TESTS IN THE LABORATORY AND ON THE TERRAIN

We take the resistance of our handlebars very seriously—their weight is really important, but we do not place it before their resistance. Our handlebars aren’t light just because we have decided to remove material. Kästor has passed the most demanding tests in the industry, with loads well above those required by ISO. It is unlike any other handlebar.
