Gemini

It was just getting dark. It was a Friday, early 2015.
I had arranged to have dinner with my friends, and my brother Jose picked me up in his car.

On that journey we had the conversation that changed everything.
I'd been mulling over an idea for a while. I'd even started making some drawings in my notebook.

There are moments when you realize that everything you've done in your life has brought you right here.

I've been passionate about cycling since I was a kid. I grew up racing on the track, on the road, in downhill, assembling and disassembling my bikes over and over again. Screwing things up and learning from it.
That led me to work as a mechanic while studying engineering. And before finishing my degree, I had the opportunity to start working on incredible bike projects through various agencies and as a freelancer for brands like Orbea, Intense, Mondraker, Scott, and many others.

I was living my dream.
My whole life revolved around the bike.
When he wasn't working, he was riding.
When I wasn't riding, I was training to be a better designer, a better engineer.

And then my mother died of cancer.
And everything fell apart.

Sometimes we understand too late what really matters in this life.

I could no longer recover the time I had not dedicated to my mother.
But I could decide what and who I wanted to spend my time on from then on.

I wanted to share it with my brother.

Jose and I had grown up together racing on the streets, in the mountains, accompanying each other to competitions, to training sessions.
Always on a bike. Always together.

At that time, Jose had been working with carbon fiber for several years, developing laminates, conducting tests, and manufacturing with his own hands.

And I had in my notebook a design that no one had yet carried out:
an integrated carbon handlebar for MTB.

And I saw it clearly.

I was going to create a brand with my brother.

A brand made with our own vision.
A different brand, without ties, without shortcuts, without concessions.

With a clear objective: to create the best components that unify everything we consider important: maximum lightness, performance that allows you to be faster, and a spectacular, inspiring design. All of this is manufactured with the finest materials and manufacturing processes, striving for the highest quality, so that when you hold them in your hands, you'll feel like true gems. That's why we decided to manufacture them ourselves, applying the knowledge acquired over the years and developing our own manufacturing system that makes our pieces unique.

We started working on that project in mid-2015.
And in May 2018 we presented our first collection.

Today, thousands of cyclists around the world ride with Gemini components.
Cyclists who, like us, value the craftsmanship, innovation, design, and soul behind each piece.

Jose and I are nothing alike.
But we're twins. We were born at the same time, in May.
Our mother always read the horoscope, which was the same as ours.
That's why we chose this name: GEMINI.

Because this brand is not just what we do.

It's what we are.
