A SPECIFIC UNIBODY DESIGN FOR CROSS COUNTRY BIKES

PRÖPUS is a handlebar developed for you to be able to climb faster, to provide you with comfort in the most broken areas and increase your control in the technical descents with maximum integration and a simple and neat aesthetic.

PRÖPUS is an ultra-light handlebar not just because we have decided to remove some material—each layer has been studied and optimized to perform at the highest level. Together with its unibody design, this bar offers unique resistance, one that cannot be compared with any conventional handlebar.

NO ASSEMBLY STRESSES

By eliminating the joint between the stem and the handlebar, stresses caused by assembly preloads have been taken away, preventing the handlebar from being slippery, and also eliminating the areas subject to compressions that warp the handlebar and are conductive to the delamination of the fiber layers, decreasing resistance.

STRESS DISTRIBUTION

The continuity of the material between the stem and the handlebar eases stress distribution over a larger area, so that the stresses flow along the handlebar, eliminating high-stress areas and, thus, increasing its final resistance.

GMN SECTION

The circular cross sections perform equally in all directions, this is why we have developed the GMN section with two basic purposes: decreasing hand fatigue arising from vibrations and forces, and increasing reactivity and control when turning.

VERTICAL ABSORPTION

By reducing the vertical section we have achieved an increased absorption of vertical impacts and vibrations, this translates into less hand fatigue and being able to keep a high speed of descent.

TURNING REACTIONS

By enlarging the horizontal section we have managed to increase the rigidity of the handlebar against any force exerted by the pilot when turning, this translates into a more direct and reactive steering control.

INTEGRATION DOWN TO THE LAST DETAIL

We have integrated the most visible part of the bike as much as possible, using our cap that, with its exclusive design, hides the upper bolt, leaving an orifice to insert only a Torx wrench to tighten it and, thus, providing a cleaner look to the cockpit.

OPTIMIZED GEOMETRY FOR XC WITH RAKES OF 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 AND 100 mm.

Its geometry has been developed specifically for XC, to lower your center of gravity and give you maximum control in the most technical climbs, as well as in the most broken descents.   

GEOMETRY FOR XC BIKES

Pröpus is especially designed to be implemented in bicycles with a steering angle between 67 and 70 degrees, its entire geometry is designed to work in that position and provide you with increased control and absorption.

LOWERED POSITION

With a racing position thanks to its negative 12 mm. in all lengths, which will allow you to lower the center of gravity and bear more weight on the front wheel, so you can tackle any descent.

SELECT YOUR LENGTH

PRÖPUS is available in different lengths of stem, so that you can choose the most suitable position for your style and the geometry of your bike, with stem lengths of 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 and 100 mm.

MADE FROM THE BEST CARBON FIBER OF INTERMEDIATE MODULUS

PRÖPUS is made from the best carbon fiber currently available on the market, Mitsubishi MR70, with an optimized lay-up to help you withstand riding your bike for hours, providing you with more comfort and safety.

CARBON FIBER

Carbon fiber is not the same everywhere—this is why we have chosen the most resistant fiber, with an intermediate modulus. Mitsubishi MR70 is a latest generation, high-end carbon fiber, developed for the most discerning clientele in the aerospace industry. This is the best option to ensure optimum performance of the handlebar, as well as increase its resistance lowering its weight.

CONSTRUCTION

The material properties are really important, but so is the building structure of the parts—this is why we use a “sandwich” structure, using twill as the external and internal layers to increase its resistance to delamination due to impacts, and a UD carbon fiber core that ensures getting the best mechanical and structural properties of the fiber.

A SPECIFIC BLADDER DESIGN 

What cannot be seen is as important as what can be seen, this is why we have created a specific bladder for every handlebar size, which allows us to adapt it perfectly to the handlebar shape and obtain a perfect fiber compaction, avoiding the formation of wrinkles and resin pools.

TITANIUM

The best material to be in contact with carbon fiber is titanium. Thanks to its chemical properties, it acts as a noble material, preventing any kind of galvanic corrosion, this is why we have chosen it for the bolts, as well as because of its balance of mechanical properties and weight.

PUT THROUGH THE MOST DEMANDING TESTS

PRÖPUS has been tested in the laboratory and on the terrain, passing highly demanding tests of resistance. Thanks to its unibody design and the material used to produce it, it offers a unique resistance, making it an optimized piece for racing.
